I have been doing various styles of martial arts since the age of 12, and fell in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the grappling arts in 2013. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu wasn’t my main style until I started taking my son to Carlson Gracie Kent in 2015. I am now a blue belt under Carlson Gracie.
The idea for Grappleshack came about from my wife, who was looking for a personalized BJJ Gi for my birthday. She was only able to find standard lined Kimonos available, all with a similar theme and design, but nothing that was limited or that you could add your own touches to. So we felt there was a gap in the market and started the process of setting up Grapple Shack 18 months ago.
Our vision is to offer limited edition BJJ Gi’s of our own design, but the main concept being a service that would offer a bespoke design tailored to the grapplers’ own tastes. Our customers can have their own image (depending on quality, size, layout and image rights) as the lining, a choice of material colour (white, blue or black) and a choice of stitching colours and their own logo if required.
We want Grapple Shack’s ideas and products to grow organically with a personal feel.
